CLS Korea Students Volunteer at Orphanage

This summer two CLS students in Jeonju, South Korea, volunteered at a local orphanage during their free time.  Katey Foran and Kim McKee both decided to volunteer at the orphanage because they are Korean adoptees themselves.

Katey Foran said, “Being a Korean adoptee myself, this experience hits close to home and is very dear to me.  We are thrilled that we can give back in this capacity."

Kim McKee added, “Volunteering at the local orphanage has been a rewarding experience not only as a Korean adoptee, but also as a Korean adoption studies researcher.  The time spent at the orphanage working with the toddlers in particular has allowed me to reflect on my own personal experiences.  I'm really glad CLS gave Katey and I the opportunity to spend a portion of our time in the program at the local orphanage.”
